European Stocks Rebound on Wednesday

European stocks rebounded on Wednesday after two consecutive sessions of losses, with the Euro Stoxx 50 climbing more than 1% and the broader Stoxx 600 advancing just under 1%. Major continental markets in Germany, France, Italy, and Spain all gained more than 1%, while the UK posted a more subdued recovery. Technology shares led the advance with a rise of around 2%, followed by energy stocks, which added more than 1%. Banks, industrial goods and services, healthcare, insurance, and utilities each rose by roughly 1%. In contrast, automobiles and parts was the weakest-performing sector, declining more than 1.5%. At the individual stock level, EssilorLuxottica jumped over 15% after reporting third-quarter revenue that beat market expectations. Carrefour, however, slumped more than 10% after cutting its profit guidance and scaling back planned capital spending. The French retailer pointed to ongoing domestic unrest and an energy price shock as factors undermining consumer confidence and complicating its business outlook.
