The Eurozone industrial confidence indicator improved to -3.4 in October 2026, up from a downwardly revised -3.9 in September and better than market expectations of -3.8. This was the highest reading since April 2023, driven primarily by more favorable evaluations of finished-goods inventories. In contrast, managers’ production expectations and their assessments of current order books were largely unchanged. Other survey components showed that manufacturers saw clear improvements in recent production trends and in export order books. However, selling-price expectations rose to 24.8 from 20.8, pointing to stronger anticipated price pressures.
