Ghana Inflation Rate Quickens to Near 1-Year High

Ghana’s annual inflation rate climbed to 5.5% in October 2026, up from 5.2% in September, marking its highest level since the previous November. Non-food inflation quickened to 7.9% from 6.2%, while services inflation rose sharply to 11.5% from 8.3%, driven by stronger price pressures in transport, housing-related services, and other household expenses. In contrast, food inflation slowed to 2.8%, down from 4.0% in September. On a monthly basis, the consumer price index (CPI) slipped by 0.1% in October, following a 1.1% increase in the previous month, mainly due to a 2% decline in food prices.
