Czech Industrial Output Hits 4-Year High

Industrial production in the Czech Republic increased by 6.2% year-on-year in September 2026, accelerating from a three-month low of 2.6% in August. This was the strongest growth since September 2022. Manufacturing output rose by 5%, up from 2.7% in the previous month, driven mainly by faster growth in the production of food products (6% vs 3.4%), beverages (15.5% vs 5%), and chemicals and chemical products (6.3% vs 2%).

Overall industrial output was further supported by a return to growth in mining and quarrying (7% vs -0.1%) and a sharp acceleration in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply (20.9% vs 2%). On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, industrial production surged by 2.7% in September, the highest level in nearly three years, following a 0.3% increase in August. For the first nine months of the year, industrial production was up 2.6% compared with the same period a year earlier.
