The National Day of the PRC is a public holiday in the People's Republic of China. On October 1, the streets of Chinese cities and towns are decorated with flowers, national flags and dazibao - the bright red wall-mounted posters with greeting texts and slogans.

Almost all citizens went to the streets of Beijing (the Chinese capital). About tens of millions people took part in the celebration of the PRC founding day.

The Tiananmen square in Beijing became the place for major events and ceremonies. Mao Zedong proclaimed the founding of the People's Republic of China in this square 67 years ago. The most patriotic Chinese people began to gather here in the morning, so that not to miss the ceremony of raising the national flag.

The National Day of the People's Republic of China for most of its inhabitants is considered as important as their own birthday. On October 1, the Chinese citizens prepare dishes in their homes, and the family celebrates the major national holiday.

It is noteworthy that not only adults take the holiday seriously - the youth and the children celebrate the founding of PRC as everyone else. They do not hesitate to take pictures with the portrait of Mao Zedong, depicted on the Gate of Heavenly Peace (entrance to the Imperial Palace).

Note that the "golden" week of vacations starts from the day of the PRC foundation holiday. The vacations of all citizens of the country will last until 7 October. The experienced travelers advised to their collegues not to come to China these days - according to them, in the period from October 1 to 7 there is an inconceivable pandemonium of people in the country.
