Expensive food: the groceries which have risen in price most of all in 2016
According to the estimates of Rosstat, in the previous year the price increase of groceries had an impact on butter cost above all. The product price climbed 20.5%. In 2015 the advance in butter price was much slower – to 10.6%.
During the reporting period other dairy products became much more expensive. Their price went up by 9.5%.
Fish and sea products added in price to a significant degree. The seafood price increase was 8.6%.
Rising costs affected alcoholic products. Alcoholic beverage price went up by 6.4%. A year ago the growth was 10.7%.
There was a price increase for cereals in the previous year. The growth reached to 6.4%, compared to 15.5% in 2015.
At the same time, in contrast, sugar sand went down in value by 6% and hen's eggs were marked down by 0.7%, while a year earlier their price increased by 9.8%.
