According to IMF estimates, only five countries in the world are expected to post GDPs exceeding Nvidia’s current market cap in 2024: the United States, China, Germany, India, and Japan. All other economies, including the UK, Canada, and Russia, are valued lower. This makes Nvidia worth more than the gross domestic product of most nations on Earth.

Bigger than top 30 billionaires

Based on current Forbes data, the combined net worth of the world’s 30 richest individuals stands at $3.76 trillion. Nvidia has already surpassed that threshold. The chipmaker is now worth more than the entire upper echelon of global wealth, including Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Bernard Arnault, Warren Buffett, Larry Ellison, and other business titans.

Bigger than global defense budget

According to the International Institute for Strategic Studies, global military spending reached $2.46 trillion in 2024, nearly half of Nvidia’s market value. Put differently, the world spends less on defense than investors are willing to pay for the company making chips for AI and data centers.

Bigger than US flagships

The combined market cap of the largest US companies across key sectors, including Tesla (auto), Netflix (media), JPMorgan Chase (finance), Eli Lilly (pharma), and ExxonMobil (energy), barely touches $3.5 trillion. Nvidia alone is worth more than this entire group, making it more valuable than the leading players across five major pillars of the US economy.

Bigger than 200 S&P 500 companies

According to FactSet, the combined market cap of the 200 smallest companies in the S&P 500 is approximately $3.52 trillion. This list includes familiar names such as Campbell’s, HP, Tyson Foods, and United Airlines. Despite their durability and decades-long histories, today, Nvidia is worth more than all of them combined.

Bigger than entire crypto market

Data from CoinGecko shows the total market capitalization of all cryptocurrencies stands at around $3.45 trillion. Bitcoin alone accounts for $2.17 trillion. However, even after adding all altcoins and stablecoins, the entire digital asset market still trails Nvidia’s valuation. This shows how much investors value Nvidia's potential compared to an entire industry based on decentralization and blockchain technology.
