Chimelong Water Park in Guangzhou is the world’s largest water park, according to the Guinness World Records. It spans an area equivalent to 250 football fields. Tropical Islands (Germany)

Germany’s Tropical Islands water park is housed in a former airship hangar, 107 meters high. Under the world’s largest dome, unique tropical ecosystems thrive: 50,000 palms and orchids grow here, while the air temperature is a steady +26°C. The main pool, stretching 200 meters, is surrounded by a beach with sand imported from Morocco. The “Cobra” slide, with its glittering LED tunnels, is perfect for thrill-seekers. In 2025, the park added the “Mango Lagoon,” a pool heated to +33°C with hydromassage stations shaped like tropical fruit. From June to August, an outdoor area with rope adventure parks and a lake is open.

Ocean Park Water World (Hong Kong)

A unique feature of Hong Kong’s Water World is its combination with an aquarium that houses 5,000 fish. The water park entertains both children and adults. The “Highland” area is famous for its slides: the “Dragon” with a vertical loop and the “Abyss” with a zero-gravity effect. In the “Cove” relaxation area, a coral reef with artificial surfing waves has been recreated. A 100-meter underwater tunnel running through shark and ray tanks is sure to amaze. From June 2025, night tickets are available, including dinner at the underwater restaurant and access to a glowing jellyfish show.

Aquaventure Atlantis (Bahamas)

Aquaventure Atlantis stands out among water giants for its unique experiences rather than sheer thrill rides. Visitors here can swim in a pool with sharks or dive among artificial ruins complete with artifacts and light effects. There is also a replica Mayan temple, countless pools, and a river with 1.5-meter waves. The water park is part of the Atlantis Resort and is divided into themed zones.

Sunway Lagoon (Malaysia)

Sunway Lagoon rounds out the top five. It is considered one of the largest water parks in Asia. The water park was created on the site of a former tin mining quarry. The vast Sunway Lagoon includes six themed zones spread over an area the size of 67 football fields. Its signature attraction is the world’s largest funnel slide: riders launch from an 11-story tower (33 meters) and drop into a 22-meter-wide tube at 60 km/h. This structure is in the Malaysia Book of Records. Visitors are also impressed by the 13,000-square-meter artificial beach with technology that produces waves as high as 2.7 meters.
