Donald Trump first came to the USSR in 1987. The famous developer of that time was invited to make an official visit to Moscow. The American came to Russia with his wife Ivanka. Trump was 40 years old. It is known that during the trip the billionaire discussed possible hotels' projects with the representatives of Soviet elite.

Later, Donald Trump shared the nuances of the conversation with the Soviet authorities in his interview to Playboy. The businessman said that he pointed to the current problem related to the real estate in the USSR. The fact is that at that time it was impossible to become the owner of the land in the country, so Trump could not understand how his colleagues will receive funding for the construction of the hotel, if the whole earth belongs to the country. According to billionaire, he received an answer: "No problem, Mr. Trump. We will do a lease."

Note that Trump didn't build the hotel in Moscow.

Visited the USSR in 1987, Trump was not thrilled with the country. Thus, in one of his interviews, he called the Soviet system a "catastrophe". Then the businessman made a bet on the fast revolution.

The next time the current US president arrived in Moscow in 1996 when it was already the capital of the Russian Federation. The most senior interlocutor Trump had a conversation with during his visit was Vladimir Resin, first deputy prime minister of the Moscow government. During the trip, the American and the Russians also discussed the development projects. It was planned that Trump will build a tower with the area of 30 thousand square meters and another building with the area of 55 thousand square meters in Moscow. One of the most famous US developers at that time was going to invest in the project about $300 million.

There weren't any results of the trip - Trump abandoned all projects.

The last and third time Donald Trump was in Russia in 2013. Being the owner of the rights to the contest "Miss Universe", the businessman was invited by the owners of Crocus Group - the Agalarovy family - to Moscow to take part in this event.

The acquaintance of Aras Agalarov (55th place in the Russian ranking by Forbes) and Trump was held after the son of the Moscow billionaire (singer Emin Agalarov) decided to invite the winner of "Miss Universe" Olivia Culp to participate in his video clip. Her managers introduced Agalarov to the owner of the contest - Trump.

It is known that during the competition the Russians and the American businessman discussed the possibility of building the Trump Tower on the territory of "Crocus City". The project was not implemented.
