U.S. deploying THAAD to South Korea
On Monday, March 6, the first complexes of the THAAD anti-missile defense system arrived from the USA to South Korea. At the Osan airbase in South Pyeongtaek, two devices and part of the equipment were delivered.
The equipment was delivered by powerful trucks. Huge tractors brought to Osan many details for US missile installations.
The deployment of the US ABM system on the Korean Peninsula is due to the growing threat from North Korea. Recall, the DPRK continues to launch ballistic missiles.
In South Korea, a trial launch of the missile was already carried out using the THAAD installation. The test was successful.
The deployment of the THAAD system, according to experts, will take one to two months. It is expected that the whole complex will have started operating by April.
