After the deadly attacks occurred in Paris last week, the focal point of the election campaign in the US is foreign policy and national security.

Candidates from the Republican party, in particular its leader Donald Trump, did not miss the opportunity to reproach President Obama for his inability to withstand the threat from the Islamic State. Almost all presidential candidates Republicans are calling on the incumbent president NOT to accept Syrian refugees. Barack Obama made a statement that up to 10,000 refugees from Syria would be allowed into the country this year.

Florida Senator Marco Rubio voiced concern speaking in Washington. “You allow 10,000 people in, and 9,999 of them are innocent people fleeing oppression, and one of them is a well-trained ISIS fighter. You’ve got a huge problem on your hands,” he noted.

According to the latest poll held by Morning Consult, American voters are worried about the safety in the US after the slaughter in Paris. 22% of pollees affirmed that safety is their main concern. However, most pollees, 36%, are disappointed by the economy’s state of affairs.
