FX.co ★ Clashes in southeast Turkey kill seven

Two people were killed as police clashed with crowds protesting against round-the-clock curfews in many areas, including Diyarbakır. Hundreds gathered for a march called by the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic party (HDP).

The city’s authorities banned public demonstrations. Armoured police vehicles roamed Diyarbakir's streets, firing water cannon and spraying tear gas at protesters.

Seven people were shot down. The policy has launched an investigation to find out who is to blame for shooting.

The political tension in Turkey escalated in summer when the Daesh group carried out a suicide attack in a Turkish town near the border with Syria. It is designated as a terrorist group in Russia. The explosion left 32 dead and dozens of injured.

Besides, policemen were killed in southeast provinces of Turkey this summer. The Kurdistan Workers party (PKK) admitted responsibility for the victims.

For four months of violence, Kurdish militants killed almost two hundred policemen, military and civilians.

For about five months, Turkish air force has been launching air strikes at bastions of the Kurdistan Workers party (PKK) in Turkey and Iraq.
