On Thursday, Charter Communications, Inc. (CHTR) and Paramount Global (PARA) announced the signing of a new multi-year distribution agreement. This deal incorporates Paramount+ Essential, the ad-supported version of Paramount's streaming service, into all Spectrum TV Select and Mi Plan Latino packages nationwide at no additional cost.
As a result of this agreement, Spectrum video customers will gain access to an expansive library of content, encompassing over 40,000 episodes of various shows and films, including popular original series and live sports broadcasts from CBS.
Tom Montemagno, Executive Vice President, stated, "This partnership not only enriches the viewing experience with access to top-rated original content and live sports but also opens new distribution opportunities for Paramount. It represents a significant step towards establishing a healthier video ecosystem that benefits both our customers and the industry as a whole."
To access this new service, customers can use the Xumo Stream Box, a device designed to enhance streaming capabilities or any other device that supports the Paramount+ application.
