Uruguay experienced a decline in its annual inflation rate, with figures dropping to 5.36% in April 2025 from 5.67% in March. This reduction in inflation was primarily reflected in various sectors, such as food and non-alcoholic beverages (5.57% compared to 6.32%), transportation (5.43% down from 6.46%), restaurants and food services (6.56% versus 6.98%), and housing and utilities (4.11% compared to 4.18%). Furthermore, the decline in prices for clothing and footwear was less pronounced, with a decrease of 0.99% against the previous month's 1.35% drop. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices increased by 0.23%, slowing from the 0.57% rise observed in March.
