In June 2025, vehicle sales in China increased by 13.8% compared to the same month the previous year, building on an 11.2% rise in May, as reported by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). Sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) saw a significant jump of 26.7% in June, marking the fourth straight month of growth. Over the first half of 2025, overall vehicle sales rose by 11.4%, while NEV sales soared by 40.3%. For the entire year, car sales are anticipated to increase by 4.7%, reaching 32.9 million units, with NEV sales expected to climb by 24.4% to 16 million units. In 2024, total vehicle sales went up by 4.5% to 31.436 million units, a notable deceleration from the 12% growth observed in 2023.
