In June 2025, the unemployment rate in the Philippines climbed to 3.7%, up from 3.1% in June of the previous year. This increase translated to 1.95 million unemployed individuals, rising from 1.62 million in June 2024. Concurrently, employment figures showed a slight uptick, with the number of employed persons expanding to 50.5 million from 50.3 million. Within the primary industry sectors, services continued to dominate employment by comprising 61.4% of the workforce. This was followed by agriculture, which made up 20.9%, and industry, which accounted for 17.7%. The labor force participation rate, however, experienced a slight decline to 65.7% from the previous year's 66%. The average working hours for employed individuals decreased slightly to 40.5 hours per week, down from 40.9 hours in the same month the previous year.
