In July 2025, Vietnam experienced a 9.2% year-on-year increase in retail sales, marking an acceleration from the previous month’s eight-month low of 8.3%. This growth was primarily fueled by increased sales in accommodation and food services, which rose by 16.3%, compared to 14.1% the month before, and a 7.7% increase in goods sales, up from 6.7%. Conversely, trade growth showed signs of moderation in sectors such as tourism, which saw a decrease from 23.9% to 12.6%, and other services, which slightly dipped from 11.5% to 11.4%. On a monthly comparison, retail trade witnessed a 1.1% rise in July, recovering from a 0.2% decline noted in the previous period. Overall, from January to July, retail activity grew by 9.3%.
