US 10-Year Yield Eases on Tariff Concerns

The US 10-year Treasury yield slipped to around 4.07% on Monday, paring last week’s gains as renewed uncertainty over US trade policy bolstered demand for safe-haven assets. On Saturday, President Donald Trump said he would raise the newly announced 10% global levy to 15%, a move that followed the US Supreme Court’s decision to strike down his sweeping reciprocal tariffs.

The announcement heightened concerns that existing trade agreements between the US and its partners could come under strain, even as senior US officials insisted that current deals would remain in place. Markets had initially cheered Friday’s Supreme Court ruling, but growing uncertainty over Trump’s next steps soon eclipsed optimism about lower tariff rates and the possibility of reimbursements.

On the data front, investors will be watching US durable goods orders and factory orders on Monday for fresh indications of underlying economic momentum.
