Thailand’s domestic car sales surged 53.77% year-on-year in January 2026, accelerating from a 39.07% increase in December, according to the Federation of Thai Industries. The country’s vehicle production rose 10.53% to 118,386 units, up from an 8.56% gain in the previous month, supported by strong domestic demand and higher electric vehicle output. In contrast, car exports fell 6.28%, reversing the 11.29% growth recorded in December.
