Taiwan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate inched down to 3.34% in April 2026 from 3.35% in March. Despite the slight decline in the rate, the number of unemployed persons rose by 5 thousand month-on-month to 397 thousand, while total employment slipped by 6 thousand to 11.632 million.
The youth unemployment rate, for individuals aged 15–24, eased to 11.37% in April from 11.42% in March. Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate declined to 59.52% in April 2026 from 59.57% a month earlier, reaching its lowest level since September 2025.
