FX.co ★ Turkey Tourist Arrivals Fall in April

The number of foreign visitors to Turkey fell by 9.44% year-on-year to 3.53 million in April 2025, marking the sharpest decline in twelve months and reversing the 5% increase recorded in March. Among the top five source markets, arrivals dropped from Germany (-17.46%), the United Kingdom (-15.14%), and Bulgaria (-5.12%), while visitor numbers from the Netherlands and Russia rose by 4.85% and 3.14%, respectively. By region, Europe remained Turkey’s largest source market, accounting for 56.24% of total arrivals, with Russia making up a further 10.97%. Istanbul continued to be the country’s leading destination, attracting 41.72% of all foreign visitors. Over the first four months of 2025, total foreign arrivals decreased by 2.08% to 10.37 million.
