China’s Services Activity Inches Higher in September, RatingDog PMI Rises to 51.6

China’s services sector expanded at a slightly faster pace in September, according to the latest RatingDog Services PMI data. The index edged up to 51.6 in September 2026 from 51.4 in August 2026, signaling a modest strengthening in activity across the country’s service industries.

With the PMI remaining above the 50-point threshold that separates expansion from contraction, the data suggest that service providers in China continued to see improving business conditions as the third quarter drew to a close. The incremental gain, though small, points to a sustained, if cautious, recovery in the sector.

The figures were updated on 30 September 2026 and will be closely watched by investors and analysts as an indicator of the health of China’s domestic demand and broader economic momentum in the second half of the year.
