Vinci SA (VCISY.PK), the renowned French concessions and construction company, announced on Thursday the acquisition of a new contract valued at A$159 million, or approximately 96 million euros, for enhancements at Melbourne Airport in Australia.
Seymour Whyte, a subsidiary of VINCI Construction in Australia, has been granted this prestigious construction contract by Australia Pacific Airports (Melbourne) Pty Ltd.
The initiative aims to improve airport accessibility, encompassing the redevelopment of the airport forecourt and the erection of a 550-meter bridge spanning 18 sections. This bridge will effectively segregate public and commercial vehicle traffic, facilitating a seamless flow between the Tullamarine Freeway and all airport terminals.
Scheduled for completion in 2026, the project incorporates stringent environmental sustainability goals, including the reutilization of all excavated material within the airport's facilities.
Vinci SA noted that this undertaking extends the initial phase of works conducted by Seymour Whyte in 2023.
