Confidence among Dutch manufacturers showed a marginal improvement in June, according to data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics on Thursday.
The producer sentiment index increased to -2.4 in June from -2.8 in May. Despite this uptick, the index remains below the long-term average of -1.3.
The survey indicated that manufacturers had a more optimistic outlook on production for the next three months and expressed less negativity regarding their inventory of finished products. However, their evaluation of order positions became more pessimistic.
Manufacturers in the electrical and machinery sectors were the most upbeat in June, with the textile and clothing industries seeing the largest gains in sentiment.
In April, the manufacturing output in the Netherlands was 3.5 percent lower compared to the same month last year.
