Hyundai Motor Unveils Three-row, All-electric SUV 'IONIQ 9'

Hyundai Motor Company has introduced the IONIQ 9, a spacious all-electric SUV featuring three rows of seating, set to launch in Korea and the United States in the first half of 2025. Following its initial release, the IONIQ 9 will expand to European and other markets. The company plans to reveal detailed specifications closer to each market's launch date.

The IONIQ 9's design incorporates a flat floor that allows flexible seating configurations, accommodating either six or seven passengers. The Relaxation Seats in the first and second rows can recline fully, complete with leg rests for enhanced comfort. This setup enables up to four passengers to relax while the vehicle charges, depending on the chosen configuration. The interior also features impressive headroom of 1,899 mm and legroom reaching 2,050 mm when the second and third rows are combined.

Equipped with an advanced propulsion system, the vehicle's high-voltage, floor-mounted NCM lithium-ion battery delivers 110.3 kWh of energy. The IONIQ 9 is projected to offer a remarkable WLTP-estimated electric range of 620 kilometers and a WLTP-targeted energy consumption of 194 Wh/km for the Long-Range RWD model with 19-inch wheels.

Hyundai highlights that the IONIQ 9 can be conveniently charged from 10% to 80% in only 24 minutes using a 350 kW charger. Additionally, the vehicle's signature vehicle-to-load (V2L) feature and its 400V/800V multi-charging capability make transitioning to electric vehicles more accessible.

Under the hood, the Long-Range RWD variant features a 160 kW rear motor. The Long-Range AWD model adds a 70 kW front motor, while Performance AWD models come equipped with dual 160 kW motors at both the front and rear. Performance-wise, the model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds. The Long-Range AWD variant achieves the same in 6.7 seconds, while the Long-Range RWD model reaches 100 km/h in 9.4 seconds.
