In June 2025, Colombia's unemployment rate declined to 8.6%, improving from 10.3% recorded in the same month the previous year. This positive shift was accompanied by an increase of 831,000 individuals in the employed population, bringing the total to 23.75 million—exceeding market predictions, which had anticipated a 9.2% unemployment rate. Notably, key sectors driving employment growth were manufacturing, which rose by 1.4 percentage points, alongside public administration, education, and healthcare sectors combined with a rise of 1.1 percentage points, and utilities contributing a 0.6 percentage point increase. Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate saw a slight dip to 66.4% from 67.0% in June 2024, while the employment rate climbed to 60.9%, up from 60.1%.
