In August 2025, Belgium experienced a notable increase in construction output, marking a 6.7% rise compared to the same month in the previous year. This represents the most rapid growth observed since January and follows an upward revision of a 1.7% increase in July. The expansion was largely attributed to recoveries in civil engineering projects, which surged by 5.6% after experiencing a decline of 2.6% in July. Similarly, building construction also reported a resurgence, climbing by 4.8% following a 2.4% decrease. Specialized construction activities showed even more robust growth, accelerating to 7.6% from 1.9% in the preceding month. However, on a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction activity declined by 1.6% in August, countering a 2.3% rise recorded in July.
