Construction output in Bulgaria increased by 4% year-on-year in January 2026, easing from an upwardly revised 8.9% in December 2025. Growth slowed across all main segments: building construction (6.6% vs 12.6% in December), civil engineering (1.8% vs 7.9%), and specialized construction activities (2.9% vs 5.7%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction output declined by 1.2%, reversing an upwardly revised 2.7% rise in December, reflecting contractions in building construction (-0.6% vs 3.5%), civil engineering (-1.8% vs -0.2%), and specialized construction activities (-1.4% vs 4.1%).
