India’s FX Reserves Climb to $697.12 Billion, Extending Upward Trend

India’s foreign exchange reserves rose to $697.12 billion, up from the previous level of $688.06 billion, according to the latest data updated on 10 April 2026. The increase of just over $9 billion underscores the continued strengthening of the country’s external buffers.

The buildup in reserves enhances India’s capacity to manage currency volatility, cushion against external shocks and support confidence in the rupee and broader macroeconomic stability. With reserves approaching the $700 billion mark, India’s external position remains one of the strongest among major emerging markets.
