Belgium GDP Flat in Q2 of 2026

Belgium’s economy stagnated in the second quarter of 2026, according to the flash estimate, after growing 0.2% in the previous quarter. The slowdown was primarily driven by weaker performance in the goods-producing sectors, with industrial output contracting by 0.8% and construction activity falling by 0.5%. By contrast, the services sector continued to offer modest support, expanding by 0.2%.

On a yearly basis, GDP increased by 0.5% in the second quarter of 2026, representing the weakest annual growth rate since the first quarter of 2021 and easing slightly from the 0.8% expansion recorded in the preceding quarter.
