In July, China's consumer price inflation exceeded expectations, with the National Bureau of Statistics reporting a rise, while producer prices continued their downward trend.
Consumer prices experienced an annual increase of 0.5 percent, up from 0.2 percent in June, surpassing the anticipated 0.3 percent rise.
Conversely, core inflation, which omits food and fuel prices, edged down to 0.4 percent from 0.6 percent in the previous month.
On a monthly basis, the consumer price index advanced by 0.5 percent, outpacing the predicted 0.3 percent increase.
Additionally, the NBS reported that producer prices declined for the 22nd consecutive month, maintaining an annual decrease of 0.8 percent, identical to the decline observed in June. This was slightly better than economists' forecast of a 0.9 percent drop for July.
