(WPRT), a leader in Canadian clean transportation technology, announced on Wednesday the appointment of Carlos Gonzalez as President and Chief Executive Officer of its joint venture, Cespira, effective April 1. Gonzalez succeeds Dan Sceli, who has been serving as interim CEO since the joint venture's establishment in June 2024. Dan Sceli will continue to contribute as a member of Cespira's board of directors. Carlos Gonzalez brings over 24 years of extensive experience in the automotive and commercial vehicle sectors across Europe. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Westport's stock experienced a notable increase, closing up 11.78% at $4.27 on the Nasdaq.
