In March 2025, Sri Lanka experienced a 9.62% increase in foreign tourist arrivals, reaching a total of 229,298 visitors compared to the same month the previous year. This followed a 10.01% growth rate recorded in February. India led as the primary source of tourists, accounting for 17.1% of the arrivals. It was followed by Russia at 12.7%, the United Kingdom at 9.8%, Germany at 7.8%, France at 6.7%, and China at 4.8%. For the first quarter of the year, foreign tourist numbers rose by 13.6% compared to the same period last year, totaling 722,276 arrivals. However, on a month-to-month basis, March saw a decrease of 4.5% in tourist arrivals.
