In March 2025, Cape Verde's annual inflation rate decreased to 2.2%, down from the previous month's nearly 1.5-year peak of 2.6%. The slowdown in inflation was mainly observed in the categories of hotels, cafes, and restaurants, which saw price growth ease to 3.5% from February's 3.9%. Similarly, the costs for alcoholic beverages and tobacco slowed to 3.1% from 3.6%, and food and non-alcoholic beverages edged down to 2.2% from 2.5%. However, some categories experienced quicker price increases, such as miscellaneous goods and services, which rose to 6.5% from 5.7%, and clothing and footwear, increasing to 4.5% from 2.8%. Month-over-month, consumer prices remained unchanged, following a 0.6% rise in the preceding month.
