Thailand Consumer Prices Drop for 1st Time in 13 Months

Consumer prices in Thailand decreased by 0.22% in April 2025 compared to the previous year, following a 0.84% increase in March. This event marked the first occurrence of deflation since March 2024, placing inflation outside the central bank's target range of 1% to 3%. Meanwhile, the annual core inflation rate—which excludes volatile components like food and energy—rose to 0.98% from 0.86% in March.
