In June 2025, Sri Lanka experienced a 21.8% increase in foreign tourist arrivals, reaching a total of 138,241 visitors. This growth rate surpasses the previous month’s figure of 18.5%, marking it as the most significant rise in tourist arrivals for the current year. India continues to lead as the predominant source of tourists, accounting for 27.4% of the total visitors, followed by the United Kingdom with 8.4%, China at 6.4%, Australia at 5.3%, Pakistan at 4.9%, and Bangladesh at 4.2%. Over the first half of the year, the number of foreign tourists saw a 15.6% increase compared to the same period last year, totaling 1,168,044. Monthly, the tourist influx grew by 4%.
