Palestine Trade Gap Widens in July

In July 2025, Palestine's trade deficit expanded to USD 526.2 million, compared to USD 484.2 million in the same month of the previous year. This change was primarily due to a 10% year-on-year growth in imports, reaching USD 684.1 million. This increase was spurred by an 11% rise in purchases from other countries, alongside a 10% uptick in imports from Israel, which constituted 56% of total imports for the month. Concurrently, exports saw a 15% increase, amounting to USD 157.9 million. This was largely due to an 18% boost in sales to Israel, which represented 94% of total exports. Additionally, exports to other countries rose by 16%. When evaluating the period from January to July 2025, the trade deficit amounted to USD 3,236.6 million, compared to USD 2,694.5 million during the corresponding period the previous year.
