The HCOB Eurozone Services PMI increased to 51.4 in September 2025, exceeding market forecasts and rising from 50.5 in August, based on preliminary estimates. This represents the strongest growth in business activity witnessed this year, bolstered by a modest uptick in new orders. Employment in the sector continued to rise, sustaining its prolonged trend of job creation, though the rate of growth slowed to a seven-month low. Companies effectively managed workloads, reducing backlogs of outstanding business at the fastest rate in three months. On the pricing front, input cost inflation remained high but showed moderation compared to August, while output prices rose at a more controlled pace, indicating some relief in inflationary pressures. Business confidence remained largely stable compared to the previous month, with firms maintaining a positive outlook for the forthcoming months despite weaker external demand.
