Producer prices in Finland experienced a slight increase of 0.1% year-on-year in August 2025, after a 1.5% decrease in July, marking the first annual rise in four months. This growth was primarily fueled by a significant surge in energy prices, with electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning costs soaring by 19.1%, a notable jump from the previous month's 1.2% increase. Additionally, the water supply, sewage, waste management, and remediation services sectors showed notable improvement, with prices climbing by 3.4%, following a 2.8% rise in the prior month. However, this overall growth was tempered by continued challenges in other sectors. Specifically, prices in mining and quarrying prolonged their decline (-2.7% compared to -2.6%), while manufactured products remained in a deflationary period, though at a decelerated rate (-1.4% compared to -1.8%). On a month-to-month basis, producer prices rose by 0.8%, marking the first positive change since January and reversing the 0.1% decline from the previous period.
