Colombia's Industrial Confidence Index (ICI) experienced a decline, falling to 5.3 in August 2025 from 6.7 in July, indicating softer demand conditions. This decrease was largely attributed to a 6.6 percentage point rise in inventory levels and a 2.5 percentage point reduction in current orders. However, the decline was partially mitigated by a 5.0 percentage point boost in production expectations for the upcoming quarter. Nonetheless, when examined on an annual basis, the ICI showed a notable improvement, climbing 6.7 points from -1.4 in August 2024. This suggests a more robust overall sentiment compared to the previous year.
