Morocco Inflation Rate Edges Up to 0.4% in September

In September 2025, Morocco experienced a modest increase in its annual inflation rate, which rose to 0.4% from August's 16-month low of 0.3%. This uptick was primarily attributed to a quicker rise in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, which saw a growth of 0.4% compared to 0.2% in August, alongside furnishings, which increased by 0.8% versus 0.6% the previous month. The inflation rates for housing and utilities remained unchanged at 0.6%, as did healthcare at 0.2%, restaurants and hotels at 2.9%, and clothing and footwear at 0.9%. On the other hand, inflation eased in categories such as miscellaneous goods and services, decreasing to 1.4% from 1.6%, education down to 2.1% from 2.3%, and alcoholic beverages and tobacco slipping to 3.4% from 3.5%. Transport prices continued their decline at the same rate as in August, decreasing by 2.4%. Monthly, consumer prices saw a rise of 0.2% in September, which marks a slowdown from the 0.5% increase witnessed in August, the fastest monthly escalation in seven months.
