US 10-Year Yield Holds Near 6-Month Low

The yield on the US 10-year Treasury note remained steady at approximately 3.96% on Wednesday, close to its six-month low. This stability comes as investors evaluate the economic landscape amid persistent trade uncertainties and the ongoing government shutdown. On the trade negotiations front, President Donald Trump expressed optimism about securing a favorable agreement with China, though he warned that the anticipated meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping might be delayed. Simultaneously, Kevin Hassett, Director of the National Economic Council, suggested that the shutdown might conclude this week, providing some relief to markets. He also mentioned that the Trump administration is prepared to implement stronger measures to resolve the shutdown if a deal is not reached. Investors are now focusing on Friday's release of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) report, ahead of a widely anticipated Federal Reserve interest rate cut expected next week.
