In the fourth quarter of 2025, consumer confidence in Bulgaria declined to -25.1, down from -21.1 in the preceding three months. This represents the lowest level since the third quarter of 2023. The decline in confidence is attributed to continued pessimism about household financial situations (-21.6 compared to -16.8 in Q3) and Bulgaria's economic outlook for the coming year (-36.2% compared to -31.6%). Additionally, there was a decreased inclination among households to make major purchases of durable goods (-31.1% compared to -25.7%), and current evaluations of the propensity to save were notably more negative (-40.2% compared to -33.4%). Moreover, there was an increased concern regarding unemployment over the next twelve months (23.5% compared to 15%). However, concerns about inflation showed a slight easing (33.2% compared to 33.6%).
