Dutch Q3 GDP Growth Revised Higher

In the third quarter of 2025, the Netherlands' economy experienced a quarter-on-quarter growth of 0.5%, a revision from the preliminary estimate of 0.4%, and an improvement from the 0.3% growth recorded in the second quarter. This represents the highest growth rate observed over the last three quarters, bolstered by a notable increase in household consumption, which rose by 0.3% compared to the previous quarter's 0.1%. Government spending also saw an ascent, rising to 0.8% from 0.5%. Additionally, net trade contributed positively, with exports growing by 1% following a 0.5% increase in the second quarter, while the growth rate of imports decelerated significantly to 0.4% from 1.9%. Contrarily, fixed asset investment fell by 1.4%, a reversal from a prior 1.6% growth, highlighting diminished investment activities by both businesses and households (-0.8% versus 0%), and a steep decline in general government investment (-4.3% compared to an earlier 9.9% increase). On an annual basis, GDP growth was adjusted upward to 1.8%, surpassing the initial estimate of 1.6% and the prior period's 1.7%.
