Kosovo’s annual inflation rate accelerated to 5.8% in January 2026, the highest level since March 2023, up from 5.3% in December. The main upward pressure came from higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages (7.7% vs. 6.2% in December), driven in particular by notable increases in the prices of fruit (+16.7%), meat (+13.1%), coffee, tea and cocoa (+10.3%), and milk, cheese and eggs (+8.7%).
On a monthly basis, the consumer price index (CPI) rose by 1.2%, the strongest increase since June 2022, following a 0.7% gain in the previous month.
