The move reflects a slight strengthening in negative sentiment toward the kiwi, with net shorts expanding by 0.6K contracts over the latest reporting period. While the shift is incremental rather than dramatic, it suggests that market participants remain cautious on the New Zealand currency’s near‑term outlook, maintaining and slightly adding to their net short exposure.
