Retail sales in Mexico increased by 4.3% year-on-year in December 2025, slightly below the 4.4% rise recorded in November, and extending the ongoing expansion in retail activity to an eighth consecutive month. The strongest growth was observed in sales of household goods, computers, home décor and used items (17.8%), followed by online and catalog sales (11.3%), motor vehicles, auto parts, fuels and lubricants (9.1%), and healthcare products (8.2%). By contrast, spending on textiles, costume jewelry, clothing accessories and footwear declined by 0.3%. On a month-on-month basis, retail sales slipped by 0.1% in December, following a 1% increase in November.
