Frankfurt's DAX trimmed early losses to finish virtually flat at 24,986 on Tuesday, as traders weighed the shifting trade landscape following President Trump’s recent tariffs while also monitoring a fresh round of corporate updates. At the same time, investors largely shrugged off concerns around artificial intelligence, supported by upbeat news from Meta and in anticipation of Nvidia’s forthcoming earnings. Caution nevertheless prevailed ahead of US President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address scheduled for this evening. On the corporate front, Fresenius Medical Care slumped 7.5%, firmly at the bottom of the index, after forecasting higher profits for 2025 but signaling broadly flat revenue and operating profit for 2026, a departure from its previous trajectory. MTU Aero Engines also came under pressure, dropping 6.4% despite reporting better-than-expected Q4 earnings, with its 2026 guidance broadly matching market forecasts.
