Mexico’s automobile production declined by 1.8% year-on-year in February 2026, totaling 311,457 units, the lowest level for that month since 2023. Among the major manufacturers, output decreased at General Motors (-0.3% to 69,652 units), Nissan (-32.7% to 40,214), Ford Motor (-8.1% to 31,508) and Mazda (-25.7% to 13,460). Production also dropped sharply at BMW (-83.9% to 1,431).
By contrast, output rose at Stellantis (+29.4% to 40,865), Volkswagen (+45.1% to 30,032), KIA (+12% to 24,100), Honda (+12.5% to 14,472) and Audi (+132.3% to 11,764). Over the first two months of 2026, total vehicle production stood at 625,774 units, down 0.6% from the same period in 2025.
