US Futures Hold Monday Rebound

US equity futures were little changed on Tuesday, holding most of the prior session’s rebound as investors continued to weigh the risks from higher energy prices and their impact on growth and inflation. Contracts on the three major indices hovered near the flatline.

Benchmark crude, refined product, and natural gas prices resumed their climb as hawkish rhetoric from the US and ongoing strikes in Iran and across the GCC reinforced expectations that disruptions to energy exports will persist in the near term.

With a light economic calendar, attention is turning squarely to tomorrow’s Fed policy decision and the updated Summary of Economic Projections, which will offer fresh insight into how policymakers are factoring higher energy costs into their rate outlook.

In corporate news, asset manager stocks traded mixed in the premarket as investors continued to assess private credit exposure amid a wave of redemption caps. Nvidia edged higher after projecting it could generate $1 trillion in revenue by 2027, driven by demand for its AI chips.
